Health space in the railway station: care at the heart of medical deserts.
In late 2023, Doxamed won the call for proposals from SNCF Gares & Connexions to roll out permanent health spaces in railway stations. This way, we bring healthcare professionals closer to the populations they serve, particularly in areas where access to healthcare is limited.
Teleconsultation, nursing care, vaccination and screening tests, by appointment.
Each health space in a railway station is part of the local health project, in partnership with the ARS (French Regional Health Agency), URPS, CPTS (French local health network) and MSP (French multidisciplinary health centre). A qualified nurse provides care to patients for nursing services, health prevention and/or teleconsultation supported by a local physician. Appointment booking is done directly via Doctolib.
A pilot programme already operational in Épinay-sur-Orge, ahead of a broader rollout to new stations across France by 2028.

In Épinay-sur-Orge, a 69-year-old man suffering from undiagnosed pneumonia was rescued by nurse Corinne Moussard, stationed in the health space at the SNCF railway station. A teleconsultation with a remote physician, a nurse in direct contact with the patient: this is the very principle of the Doxamed programme that enabled emergency care.
